Where possible I will give you an estimate (i.e. convenyancing, drafting of a Will, or setting up a trust). However, giving an estimate is not always possible. This is especially so when there is another party who may conduct him/herself in a constructive way or may use all his/her resources to stop the matter from being progressed or finalised. Where an estimate is not an option, the fee will be calculated at a reasonable hourly rate agreed in advance.
Regardless who you chose to be your lawyer, I encourage you to think twice before choosing the “cheap” representation offered by some companies operating as conveyancers. Saving $300.00 in legal fees when you are spending your life savings in the purchase of your home may have very expensive consequences. In some matters it just doesn’t pay to cut corners.
